An institute for music and the long life of culture.

The Institute exists to form artists and to keep the culture they inherit. We teach because the music we love needs to be taught carefully or it will not survive the century. We perform because the music needs an audience, and an audience needs a place to meet. We publish because the music needs to be set down, in writing, for the people who will play it next.

The three are inseparable. The Conservatory feeds the ensembles. The ensembles supply the curriculum with working repertoire. The publishing arm puts both in writing for the next generation. None of the three is decoration; all three are the work.
