The Band's third independent commercial release, taking its title from a song about the eternally renewing mercies of God — “his mercies are new every morning.” The record was where the Band spread its creative wings: Bill Wolaver's cinematic instrumental “First Light” alongside Alex's debut as lead vocalist on “Halo of the Moon.”
